new ubuntu won't install

Bug Description

I simply tried to install the os and it all went well until the end when it told me the sysytem would not boot due to "grub" not istalled and / or not working. Apologies, no expert this end. But the version has AMD in it's description my system is all Intel maybe this??

Phil,

thanks for your help, i reloaded everything and then had a thought the disk
was too big, 2 terabyte. So halved it and away we went. So clearly upto and
over 2 teras is not good for the OS.

No, the errors you got had nothing to do with disk size; they were internal errors on the mirror that caused downloading of certain packages to fail. You should have no trouble reinstalling with the full disk, or you could just use gparted from the live cd to increase the size of the partition to use the rest of the space.
