Bug Description

This is run even if you tell the installer not to configure the database the install php script is curl'ed. Thus resulting in dpkg returning an error 1 and breaking the install. Also curl'ing the localhost url is not garenteed to exist which also breaks the install.

/var/lib/dpkg/info/drupal-5.1.postinst : 77
curl http://localhost/drupal/install.php?profile=default 2> /dev/null | grep "Drupal installation complete" > /dev/null || exit 1

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 beta or later?

Hello Philip,

I actually switched the server to Debian 6+ months ago, so I don't know if the problem persists. If you need a second pair of eyes I would be happy to check into this.

I'm asking this because looking at the .post* files for drupal5 and drupal6 I can't find any reference to curl in them, and can't reproduce this issue in karmic because of that. So I thought asking you if you can still reproduce this issue would be the easiest way to check if this bug is still valid, since it has been lying around for quite a while. I also can't find any reference to a bugfix in the drupal5.post* files in the changelogs, so I would still ask you if you're able to still reproduce this bug in ubuntu. If not I would close this bug as being fixed by an update. Thank you in advance.
