Bug Description

Sometimes we need to boost the mic volume. #1000759
The volume control has no boost function but gain normally has.

So we should add a "pregain" control to mic.

IMHO two rotaries are overdone for mic, so we should just replace volume with gain in default skins

(Discussed in https://github.com/mixxxdj/mixxx/pull/172)

EngineMicrophone needs an EnginePregain for this. We could easily do it (though EnginePregain has accrued some deck-specific stuff in it, it would work fine).

So should we add a gain control to mics / auxes ?

Have we actually some real world results with the new mic ducking?
Is "too quit" still an issue then ?
If so, it does not hurt to add the mic gain.

Here is the latest complain in that matter for v1.11: http://mixxx.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=6297

Freeing myself from this bug.
If i understand correctly, this is not done with changing some xml lines but requires some work on the code base.

I have this issue with my hardware. The sound-card has a mic volume and a mic boost control.
Strictly spoken, Mixxx is the wrong place to solve it without loosing bit depth.
But since opening the alsa mixer to set the boost control is very unhandy in live situation, this is a good band aid.

This is an aspect of Bug #1306253
