kernel log getting spammed every 10s with battery notifications

On my Ubuntu phone mako running image 182 I'm getting spammed in the kern.log every 10 seconds:-

Alan - what would you consider an appropriate warning interval ? This message is only printed when your battery capacity falls below 11%.

I have no objection to being told every 10 seconds. What's odd is that the message appears 12 times every 10 seconds, not once every 10 seconds.
