upgrading kubuntu 13.10 to 14.04 alpha 2 fails with the message "could not determine the upgrade"

Hi

I have attached the logs to this email. I'm new to Ubuntu and I've been
changing settings to try to get my sound working properly so it could be
due to that?

I have removed the latest amd graphics driver and cinnamon and it seems to
have fixed the upgrade problem.
