I have not been able to reproduce this crash on a Gutsy machine I updated yesterday, 8-21-07. I fiddled around in gnome-appearance-properties for quite some time, systematically changing various settings on each page. The only inconsistency I noticed is that the thumbnail representation of the desktop image I have selected is wrong, the size is nowhere near correct.

It was probably due to some custom themes I grabbed from gnome-look.org.
I have not seen this bug again however, perhaps a random fluke?

In that case, unless you can provide the theme package you believe was at the root of the problem, I'm going to close this as "invalid". If you can attach that here, please change the status back to unconfirmed.
