Bug Description

The following seems to apply to all steam locos, what I have cited below is just a couple of examples.

From SVR1:

1. The brake gauge on the 8F works incorrectly. It starts at 30 and then drops as you make a brake (release the brakes). It should start at zero and rise to 21. This also applies to the Black 5.

2. The brake gauge on the Manor works incorrectly. This has a dual gauge. The lefthand side starts high and drops to zero as you make a brake, it should rise to 24 or so). The right side has the needle tilted over. It should presumably be permanently at 24 or so as OR doesn't currently model ejectors and vacuum pumps.

I'm sorry, I don't understand what you want. The bug was observed when running scenarios from the Severn Valley Railway route, the locomotives being provided with the route. What do you want a link to?

I have just had a look at the 'Flying Scotsman' loco from the standard Settle and Carlisle route, which presumably you do have. The brake gauge works the wrong way round on this too. When the vacuum brake on a British steam loco is applied, the gauge should drop towards zero indicating that the brake is ON (no vacuum). When the brake is released, the ejector sucks air out of the train pipe and the vacuum pressure RISES until it gets to 21 inches (25 inches on GWR locos), indicating that the brake is OFF and the train can move.

Could you please provide a download link for a locomotive with this
problem?

Okay, back with tusks!

Have you written the locomotives are bundled with Severn Valley Railway route? No.
Have you provided a download link to Severn Valley Railway, which the locomotives are bundled with? No.
Should I heard about the Severn Valley Railway route at all, here outside of England? No.
Have you written the Scotsman would be a good test locomotive too? No.

Your communication is strange, least to say.

I'm a bit puzzled by this. You seem to have read some evil intention in my e-mail that wasn't there. In my original report, I referred to SVR1, which is the Severn Valley route. This is a commercial CD produced by Just Trains and is not to my knowledge downloadable. So I guessed that you might not own the route and I checked the 'Flying Scotsman', which is a default loco in the original MSTS game, and it exhibited the same symptoms, so the problem is not specific to SVR1 but applies to all locos (British at least) with vacuum brakes. I also provided you with a link to an article that explains how the vacuum brake gauge works in MSTS; it should be the same in OR.

If you don't 'own' any steam locos with vacuum brakes it is going to be a bit awkward to demonstrate the problem. The Golsdorf (from the St Anton default route) has air brakes and these seem to be OK.
