kid3 3.0.2-2, which will solve this problem, are now in Debian's NEW queue:

A version 3.0.2-3, which fixes a problem in 3.0.2-2, is supposed to enter the NEW queue soon, at the moment it is in Debian's SVN:

Using version 3.0.2-3 in Ubuntu will fix this bug.
