Did this issue just start happening after a recent upgrade or update? Can you provide the details on what steps you use to reproduce this bug?

Its been happening for a while now and there seems to be no way I have found to reproduce it.

I only have to hard reset using power button to bring it back up.

Since the problem occurred, I have applied all possible updates from the software center and still it persists.

After some suggestions online - i have also removed the nvidia drivers entirely and problem still exists.

Random freezes of the machine only when using linux. I have a dual boot with windows - which never crashes. (yes, surprisingly).

I have tried looking through, system messages and other logs but havent found anything to point to what causes the freeze.
