Bug Description

Since the Launchpad upgrade a couple of days ago, the Add a comment/attachment form that's normally at the end of the existing comments can't be made visible or "active". The "Add a comment/attachment" is present but it does nothing when clicked. Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-GB; rv:1.7.13) Gecko/20060724 Firefox/1.0.8 (Ubuntu package 1.0.8), old and crufty I know but it may be something's wrong that could affect others. By doing View -> Page Style -> None the form is visible and works.

You use firefox 1.0.8, maybe it's normal to have problems. Firefox v1.x isn't supported anymore. What version of Ubuntu do you use? You should upgrade at least to Dapper, but better to Feisty =)

I've a Feisty ready on another partition but haven't moved across for day to day work yet. This is 5.04. You're right; Hoary is unsupported in terms of bug fixing Firefox or other Ubuntu programs, but this is Launchpad; I didn't realise it was only meant to work with supported Ubuntu browsers ;-) As for it being normal to have problems with 1.0.8, well it was working fine a few days ago before the Launchpad upgrade.

A lot of things have changed in CSS of LP, so browser 1.0.8 can't support or have bugs on it. It works fine with Feisty, with Firefox v2.0.0.5, so upgrade it!

The left expandable menus.. example "Bug details", doesn't work/expand on Internet Explorer 6. I'm testing it here with Windows XP + IE6.

They work for me in Internet Explorer 6. Marco, can you install the Microsoft Script Debugger and report the exact error you get when you try to expand one of the boxes?

Although some more information is required on the IE6 problem with the left expandable menus, no more information is required for the *original* problem I created this bug to cover. That of Firefox not handing the bug comment form.

By marking the bug as "incomplete" people will skip looking at it. Can it please be changed back to New. The IE6 info can still be added when available, or a separate bug opened to cover what may be a seperate issue given it's a different browser and a different part of the web page; the left expandable menus still work fine in Firefox 1.0.8.

There has been a lot of work making the UI work in different browser. Is this still a problem?

Hi Ralph,

can you test this again on FF 1.0.8 on our edge.launchpad.net server? Yesterday a fix was committed to fix the IE6/7 problem (bug 273401) and that might have fixed the issue on old FF versions as well.

Thanks
