Bug Description
The OpenStack gating tests exposed a common occurrence of kernel crashes when using neutron on precise with the default kernel during the Icehouse release cycle.
The fix for this was to install the back-ported kernel from the upcoming LTS (3.20 --> 3.11.0). This is the configuration being used for testing in the gates going forward and is recommended for deployments in the field, especially those that are using Neutron.

Furthermore, it would nice to have the docs mention what kernels are known not to work along with which kernel we gate on.
knowing which kernel we gate on lets deployers know which kernel they are least likely to have problems with.
