Bug Description

Previous version bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/lightdm-gtk-greeter/+bug/1251431 still affects me despite having 1.7.1 version on Xubuntu 13.10 64-bit. Custom wallpaper appears only after changing line Exec=/usr/lib/accountsservice/accounts-daemon to #Exec=/usr/lib/accountsservice/accounts-daemon in /usr/share/dbus-1/system-services/org.freedesktop.Accounts.service

What do you mean with custom-wallpapers? If you mean "fixed wallpapers", then yes, by default the greeter doesn't use the one from the config-file, but the one set by accountsservice for the user. Xfdesktop is patched in Xubuntu to set the wallpaper in accountsservice to support this feature.

So basically if you want a static wallpaper in the greeter, as defined in the config file, you *have to* disable the accountsservice patch in Xfdesktop or the wallpaper-setting in accountsservice.

The bugreport you link to seems to be slightly different from your issue (or I don't understand the bug-description well).
