Bug Description

This is the second bug report I fill regarding this problem. Previous report is in bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1264714
May be the added debug information is useful regarding some programs using the network or any other system functionality that might cause conflicts with the resuming.

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v3.13 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

Got the same problem here. It's quite serious because I can't resume at all because of this bug. I have to restart completely. Defeats part of the usability of a laptop. I've updated to the latest greatest of august 28th, 2014.

Correction: this bug only appears when I press the power button after going into pause. I even need a power cable to get any life into it after that.

When I just press a button after going into a pause, it resumes as normal.
