Audio cuts out in and out in amarok and kde 3.5.7

Ever since i upgraded to kde 3.5.7 in gutsy i have all my audio in flac and amarok is version 1.4.6 and for some reason with all my audio in amarok it intermittently cuts in and out throughout all the songs

i forgot to mention that im running the x86_64 bit version of gutsy. ii have tried it in other players and it works fine.

it worked perfectly fine for me with kde 3.5.6

i have narrowed this to kde3.5.7 and or the flac pkg. im not sure which one. since im not an expert programmer i dont know what kind of errors i should be looking for

problem has been isolated to xine going to try find someone in the xine channel to help me debug

this is for sure a xine problem specific to the 64bit version of gutsy. i downloaded the latest lib xine and compiled it and reinstalled amarok from the pkg in the repository and now its saying that xine is unable to initialize any audio device

amarok knows the xine engine is there but for some reason its not auto detecting my audio. i am using alsa but amarok is not picking it up.

Amarok version 1.4.6 is quite old.
Can you try to reproduce with 1.4.8? You can get it via backports.

this was a while back. i dont seem to be having that issues any more.
