Bug Description
After installing some updates, all the menubars/panels disappered. I'm a first time user of Ubuntu, and I couldn't find any way to restore the menubars/panels. The only solution I found, was to reinstall Ubuntu from scratch.
Is there a way to restore the panels - applications, places and system ? Since none of the panels were present, I couldn't load /make a new panel.

Thank you for your bug. Do you have any error in .xsession-errors when that happens? Does it work with an another user? Do you use compiz?
