Bug Description

This has happened for the first time now, all previous cycles had no problems. Will update report with info on frequency of issue. Not working means that laptop shows no response to keypresses or touchpad use. No response to hotkeys either (i.e. Fn-x presses). Volume rocker at the side of the laptop doesn't work either. However, touchscreen and digitizer continue to work.

WORKAROUND: A second suspend-resume fixes the issue. I'm attaching a dmesg log from after the second resume.

I'm attaching the mcelog, since dmesg indicates that several mces occured. I do not, however, know, whether those are related to this bug.

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v3.13 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

Same issue using kernel 3.13.0-031300rc5-generic.
Loss of keyboard/touchpad seems to be somewhat random, but happens at least once in three times. Second suspend/resume after loss always restores functionality.

Hey,

sorry for the delay. Running 3.13.0-031300r8-generic, I cannot at the moment reproduce the problem (Is it fixed? I hope so!) Will continue running this kernel, until I can be sure.
I've attached the contents of /proc/acpi/wakeup and suspend-trace for good measure.

Daniel, thank you for testing the latest mainline kernel. Could you please confirm this issue exists with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ . If the issue remains, please just make a comment to this.
