Bug Description

Fail to perform fresh install (w/o LVM or encryption) in VirtualBox with Mint 16 MATE 32 bit dvd.

Start the live session from DVD, click and follow instruction of installer, and it hangs at "copying files" while the terminal show "ubiquity **CRITICAL** Unable to create '/root/cache/dconf'; dconf will not work properly"

reset the computer and try again but no luck.

Seek help from google, it is found that the temp solution is to remove ubiquity-slideshow package in live session, reference as below:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/959251
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/989968
pointing to temp solution to http://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.php?id=914271

applied same temp solution for mint 16 live session and installed successfully:

sudo apt-get remove ubiquity-slideshow-mint

expected result: install smoothly without removal of package
