[FEATURE REQUEST] copy image for downloaded covers

when dowloading covers, I often wish I could right click and be able to copy the cover directly to the clipboard, or even save from the right click (without opening to larger), or even save all or a selection of covers.

More explicitly, as it is, the right click menu lets me open it to see it larger from which one can save, but this is laborious. I think there should be a few more options directly one the right click. Sometimes I want to be able to modify/combine covers that I find. It would be nice to right-click and copy for later paste it into another program. Also, it would be nice to have checkboxes to be able to select several/all covers, and then download them all to a directory.

Dream time: select several (an even number of?) covers, and have Calibre create a grid from the covers

Fixed in branch master. The fix will be in the next release. calibre is usually released every Friday.

gads I spoke too soon. It turns out that copying the current cover does not work. that is to say, they don't work when fut into Preview with create file from clipboard.

Copying the other covers works...

When you say current cover, do you mean the vbery first cover in the
list?

There was indeeda small bug that prevented only the current cover from being
copied, will be fixed in the next release.

yes, the first one shown is what I meant, though (as you know) sometimes it is just a dummy image (source of the bug?)...but usually it has the existing image.

Nothing is ever as easy as it seems, eh. Sorry to cause such trouble, but using even for just a day has been very helpful to me. I have a lot of missing covers or covers that need a little tweaking. I am a bit of a nut about nice covers. I wish I were a python programmer, cause I would have been very glad to have contributed a nice little plugin for it...
