zram-config.conf does not have a "Stop" line

Bug Description

In the /etc/zram-config.conf file, there is a Start line, but no "Stop" line.

Shouldn't any init config file have a "stop" line after the "start" line? Something such as:
stop on runlevel [!2345]

just after:
start on runlevel [2345]

?

In /etc/init/zram-config.conf line 4
*************************
start on runlevel [2345]

*************************

but there is no stop line.

Regards,
Mélodie

Meanwhile upstart is gone, and there should be systemd unit files?

Sure, there should be. Also I had asked for zram-config that we'd have a config file where we could tweak/override the configuration. ie: make block devices 1/4 of the ram size instead of 1/2, or choose how many block devices we'd want to have, whatever the proc can be…

Hi, upstrart and zram-config.conf file were removed since 0.7: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/zram-config/+changelog
systemd service now also has a stop service.
Please let us know if there are still related issue, else close this bug.

Hello @oibaf,

almost 10 years later! Everything happens, right? Of course zram-config has been ported to SystemD. And the version showing has been 0.5 for a while now and not 0.7.

A config file available to the administrator to setup the %age RAM used to created the block devices (and number if needed) would still be nice.

This one bug report is totally obsolete, please close it.

PS: In Ubuntu Focal,
$ apt-cache show zram-config
Package: zram-config
Architecture: all

OK, done.

You may want to see: bug 1654777, bug 1821499, bug 1516399.

This was also addressed in 0.7: now it just need 1 device, threading is now managed by the zram kernel module.
