Bug Description

Reported by Marco C. in the discussion list:

In almost all Windows apps, hold ALT while typing a decimal character number on the number pad to insert a special character. This keyboard shortcut doesn't work in Zim for Windows.

Current workaround is to copy and paste from Character Map (built-in Windows applet). Or use the Insert Symbol plugin http://zim-wiki.org/manual/Plugins/Insert_Symbol.html .

As noted in the mailing list, this is most likely an upstream bug in PyGTK or GTK+, but I can't find evidence of that at this time.

I assigned this to me. The next time I dust off my build VM to do the Windows build, I will run the PyGTK demos, prove it's not a Zim bug, then reference or create the appropriate upstream bug and mark this bug lp:1245274 with the appropriate status.
