Bug Description

Lenovo X200 will appear to suspend and resume correctly, but any attempt to use bluetooth will result in a kernel oops followed by a hard lockup a few minutes later. Below is some relevant output from /var/log/syslog and lsusb, and I believe the rest of my system information has been uploaded by ubuntu-bug.

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v3.12 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Unfortunately the problem persists on 3.12.0-031200rc6-generic too. I've confirmed and updated the tags as requested.

Hi,

No, it didn't appear to affect the laptop prior to the upgrade.

Kyle Gordon, the next step is to bisect from the prior working release to Saucy, in order to identify the offending commit. Could you please do this following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/KernelBisection ?

I recently changed to an X201s laptop, and the problem persists. I'm also having a hard time finding the time to learn about bisection, as the provided commands on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/KernelBisection are vague and assume good knowledge of Git.

Do you not have a QA test suite at Canonical on which to test this bug?

My notes thus far are...

3.11.0-12-generic. Bug not present
3.11.0-13-generic. Bug present
3.12.0.031200rc6. Bug present
