I can verify the bug. Moving windows with the shortcut to the left / right works, up / down doesn't.

It's only window movement that doesn't work... Ctrl-Alt-Cursor-Down/Up works ok

This bug is the same bug as this one:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-settings/+bug/1241282

The problem is incorrect key bindings for going up and down with the window.
Move window Up: <shift><super>prior
Move window Down: <shift><super>next

The solution is:
Install CCSM
sudo apt-get install Install compizconfig-settings-manager

->Open CSSM
-> Go to Wall Plugin
-> Shortcuts tab
-> FIx the shortcuts to <shift><ctrl><alt>up/down

Thanks so much Gustavo!!! Fixing the shortcuts did the trick!. Just in case I clicked the button that reset the default behavior to fix this...

Daniel.

Christopher Townsend (townsend) wrote :

This is not a Compiz issue as it is binding the keys correctly. Rather, this is a decision by Gnome to introduce new keyboard shortcuts for switching workspaces that is not compatible with Compiz. What happens is that gsettings-desktop-schemas is now setting two different shortcuts, but for some reason, the new shortcut only takes effect which is the one that is *not* the one that is set in Compiz by default, hence the shortcut no longer works.

This said, this is a duplicate of bug #1241282 which has a fix proposed and is waiting on an Ubuntu developer to review and sponsor.
