Bug Description

This worked fine with the previous kernel, 3.2.0-53.81, on the same hardware.

I have included a dmesg output of 3.2.0-54.82 showing the lack of detection of the keyboard. If it was possible to attach more than one file, I would also have included a dmesg output of successful MS Natural 4000 Keyboard detection during a 3.2.0-53.81 kernel boot.

Ah, so the CurrentDmesg.txt produced by apport shows the correct detection under 3.2.0-53.81 since that's what needed to run for me to have a working keyboard to file the report. And the extra attachment at the top is an older dmesg output (gzipped) from last Sunday when I was trying to figure out what was going wrong while running with the newer 3.2.0-54.82 kernel.

I started a kernel bisect betweenUbuntu-3.2.0-53.81 and Ubuntu-3.2.0-54.82. The kernel bisect will require testing of about 4 or so test kernels.

I built the first test kernel, up to the following commit:
fa08e2bd8fb9618d92c4fe44d405c10887b5bb88

The test kernel can be downloaded from:
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~jsalisbury/lp1237204

Can you test that kernel and report back if it has the bug or not. I will build the next test kernel based on your test results.

Thanks in advance

It looks like this bug was fixed upstream. Recent kernels don't have the problem.
