Bug Description

The problem is related to blur, when it is active the system hangs for a few minutes every time you open the dash or transparent elements, such as new dialogs (shutdown, hibernate, suspend etc..), It also happens to other users with this type of netbook and problems also in Raring which were then resolved. Sorry for my english, but I hope it is understood.

This should be partly fixed (for tooltips and quicklists) at least by lp:1233109... I'd probably need a low powered machine to verify the other cases.

This is also due to a bad bug in Mesa 9.2. See https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mesa/+bug/1222602 for details. There is a workaround in that bug here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mesa/+bug/1222602/comments/6

Please try that workaround and see if it helps.

Marking this as a duplicate of bug #1222602 since hte GPU listed in this bug is definitely affected by the Mesa 9.2 issue.
