The Journal doesn't support marks for enrolled or withdrawn

Bug Description

I need to be able to record days when students enroll in a class during a term or withdraw from class during a term. The current system only allows absent or tardy (excuded or unexcused), so it does not allow this important data to be recorded.

I've seen different approaches. The new Synergy system that APS is now using for example, marks students N/E (not applicable) for all days before they enroll or after they withdraw. I'm sure there are other viable approaches, but one way or another, there needs to be a way to record that a given student should not be marked present or absent on days in which they were not enrolled in the class.

I'm a attaching a screen shot of the synergy attendance view. The student at the bottom added on Tuesday, Sept. 10, so the days prior to that show up grayed with N/E.

Yes, Justas started working on this but had to put it aside to clean things up for the release. He'll get back to it soon.

I'm not complaining, Mr. Hoffman, just trying to do my duty as good
SchoolTool community member by reporting bugs ;-)

I'm not sure that will do it, Unless marking a student "Withdrawn" makes
them invisible (best would be to toggle withdrawn students on and off).
Otherwise, you will still need to remove a withdrawn student from a section
to keep them from showing up. -- jeff
