Bug Description

Among bugs listed in http://www.inkscapeforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=16008 when importing a pdf it seems that my version got an extra one : A clip-path is added that hide most of the text

open test.pdf

The dialog (import.png) that pops up shows a preview of the pdf that is about to be imported.
Notice there are about ten lines in the preview (the text is very small but this is not the point)

In inkscape there are only 3 lines visible (result_of_import.png).
The rest of the text is here but it is hidden because of a clip path (unwanted-clip_path.png)

When this clip-path is removed the lines become visible but the text is written upside/down (last lines are written before the first ones)

inkscape : 1:0.48+devel+12486+41~precise1
ubuntu : 12.04

PS : there are bugs to follow : when removing the clip-path all the kernings of text is lost => declared as bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/1217055

AFAICT a side-effect of the regression reported in
- Bug #1215575 "Manual text kerning not working since r12471"
  <https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/1215575>
My comment (quoted from irc) in that earlier report about the regression affecting PDF import was based on exactly the same PDF file (from inkscapeforum.com).

Testing on OS X 10.7.5 with archived builds:
- not reproduced with revision <= 12470
- reproduced with revision >= 12471

Note: the clip-path itself is correct - it's the rendering of the text which is wrong, and thus might make it appear to the casual user as if the clip-path is wrong (open the saved SVG file - or the original PDF file - in r12470 and all text is visibly rendered within the clipped area).
