i boot from usb stick with 13.10 iso (development branch). I cant see the sd card.
apport-collect -p linux 1216583 i did with card in the reader.
gparted shows a device on /dev/mmcblk0 with 29,36 GiB. Could this be the card?

Now i'll do
apport-collect -p linux 1216583
 without the card in the reader

Sorry, the postings from 45 to 58 are double. My mistake.

I try it with:

ubuntu-10.04-desktop-amd64.iso

No change!

Could be, that in this version is no driver for the reader and other hardware, because no WLAN, no LAN was detected.

So I can't give you no information with 10.04.

By the way: I made an extern USB 3.0 reader on the notebook and all was fine.

Joseph Salisbury (jsalisbury) wrote : Please test latest development kernel (3.11.0-7.14)

Given the number of bugs that the Kernel Team receives during any development cycle it is impossible for us to review them all. Therefore, we occasionally resort to using automated bots to request further testing. This is such a request.

We are approaching release and would like to confirm if this bug is still present. Please test again with the latest development kernel and indicate in the bug if this issue still exists or not.

You can update to the latest development kernel by simply running the following commands in a terminal window:

    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

If the bug still exists, change the bug status from Incomplete to Confirmed. If the bug no longer exists, change the bug status from Incomplete to Fix Released.

Thank you for your help, we really do appreciate it.

Detlef, as a potential WORKAROUND, could you please add to /etc/modules:
pciehp

then could you please try booting with the following kernel parameters individually, and then in combination:
pciehp.pciehp_force=1
pciehp.pciehp_poll=1
elevator=noop

and try having the sdcard out of the reader during boot and then plugging in and see if it changes anything?

lp

pciehp

Then I tried this:

pciehp.pciehp_force=1

pciehp.pciehp_poll=1

elevator=noop

...and the combinations:

pciehp.pciehp_force=1 pciehp.pciehp_poll=1

pciehp.pciehp_force=1 elevator=noop

pciehp.pciehp_poll=1 elevator=noop
