Background bitmap (default mode, i.e. white) not rendered.

After installing UberWriter from the ppa on Linux Mint (Olivia) and opening UberWriter, the background shows not a tiled background image (white striped bitmap), but a black area. This makes it impossible to use this mode and forces one to revert to use dark mode only. Perhaps there is an issue with the path to the background image not being correct following install?

Thanks for looking into this.

Note that in dark mode the dark background bitmap is also not displayed.

Just to add some info, it seems like a bug somewhere in GTK or pyGTK, or a at least a very strange interaction.

If I use
ssh -X localhost /opt/extras.ubuntu.com/uberwriter/bin/uberwriter
it works fine?!
