Bug Description

Same issue as bug number 119003 but with a new Serval performance. Function-F3 does not switch. Editing /etc/defaults/acpid to include "all vga" get the projector working but can not switch between the two.

Update to bug. Switching works during boot time and shutdown. Just not during normal operation.

I have similar broken behavior with my new Serp3. (Similar enough that I feared new report would be considered a dupe.)

Serp3, initial platform loaded, drivers applied, no meddling with Xorg, etc.

Attempting to toggle displays using Fn+F3 before GRUB loads have no apparent effect.

Attempting to toggle displays after Ubuntu has loaded result in video output being directed only to the secondary display. The output cannot be directed back to the Serval's display until the secondary display's connector has been removed.

When output is directed to the secondary display, the native resolution (and refresh rates?) are used, rather than those relevant to the secondary display.

As Thart reported - Switching works only during boot time and shutdown (Serval Performance). I have to restart X to switch to different video output - and then restart X again to switch back. This prevents me from using this laptop for presentations etc.

After booting the computer, please go to a terminal and enter:
sudo tail -f /var/log/acpid

Then press the Fn-F3 switch.
What is the output?

Also, please see if you can switch displays from nvidia-settings.

sudo apt-get install nvidia-settings
sudo nvidia-settings
