Bug Description

Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.22

After dist-upgrading from a working 2.6.20-16 feisty install to gutsy, 2.6.22-6 did not assign a network interface to my wireless networking card. The interface assigned was previously "ra0" but now is gone.

Brian,
I believe so:

ryan@pythagoras:~$ aptitude search linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.22-6-g
i A linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.22-6-generic -
Ubuntu supplied Linux modules for version 2.6.22 on x86/x86_64
ryan@pythagoras:~$

If you need other information feel free to keep emailing/posting to
the bug report.

Cheers

I have the same problem, with the gutsy livecd. In previous releases, the legacy drivers were used and I didn't have any problems. Now, with the rt2x00 drivers, my network card isn't detected. I've used the rt2x00 driver before, on my gentoo install, so it should recognize my card.

the problem is that the rt2500pci module is not included. The installed modules are rt2x00lib rt2x00pci and rt2x00usb, but not the card specific module (in my case rt2500pci).

As I mentioned in a duplicate of this bug, the latest CVS snapshot (or git) from rt2x00 works for me if I compile it myself, but there are additional kernel modules that are not included in the ubuntu-modules package:

jos@hamerkeuh:~/tmp/rt2500$ ls /lib/modules/2.6.22-7-generic/rt2x00/eeprom_93cx6.ko rt2500usb.ko rt2x00usb.ko
rt2400pci.ko rt2x00lib.ko rt61pci.ko
rt2500pci.ko rt2x00pci.ko rt73usb.ko

only the middle 3 are in the ubuntu modules.
