Bug Description

Sorry, I am new to Linux and although there are a lot of similar bug reports
I do not find a way to solve this problem:

I am running 12.04 LTS on a desktop.
I want to create a startup disk on USB flash to install a second destop (AMD Athlon) using "Startup DISK Creator".
I have selected ubuntu-13.04-desktop-amd64.iso for input.
I have tried different USB sticks with 2Gbyte and 4GByte and different ports on my destop
but the installation on the USB stick always stops at 41% and then, after a while (~2 minutes)
this error message appears:
"Checksums do not match. Retry?"

Thanks

Try reducing the "Stored in reserved extra space" to less than 500mb or disabling using the "Discarded on shutdown..." radio button.

Dear John,

I had reduced the reserved extra space to zero because I do not need this
for a simple installation.
This bug is not related with the space available on the USB storage. I have
tried different devices.
Copying the files to the USB storage always stops at 41% regardless of the
type in use.

Many regards
Andi

Dear John,

do you have any news on this topic. I wander whether I am the only one unable to write a
bootable USB disk?

I have problems too, especially with the i386 images. In the meanwhile I use unetbootin for creating startup disks.
