It happen also for me. It happens only when during a video reproduction by vlc screensaver or energy savig engage. I'm using Kubuntu LTS with only canonical ropository.

I had a couple more instances of the bug. Ubuntu folks, let me know if you guys care about finding the root cause of the issue. I am willing to help debug.

Akshay Bhat, as per http://download.lenovo.com/express/ddfm.html an update is available for your BIOS (1.46). If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BiosUpdate , does it change anything?

If not, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date

Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful.
