Bug Description

Quantal lists uGet 1.8.2 as the current version but in fact the current version is 1.10.3 and so we would like to get it backported.

We have already created a Launchpad for uGet which includes source and debs for Ubuntu Quantal.

1.10.3 is contained in the following PPA. - https://launchpad.net/~plushuang-tw/+archive/uget-stable

Hi there,

In order to progress this backport, we need confirmation that uget from raring-backports/saucy builds, installs and runs on quantal.

Could you provide this information? https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuBackports has more information - the `backportpackage' tool can help you to perform a test build of the package.

Cheers.

I am not sure if the backports run or not. I suppose I could create a VM to
test it but I did provide Ubuntu DEBs for each version of the app that I
requested for backporting and I know for a fact that those all work.

Ok the 13.04 Backport does NOT work in 12.10 or 12.04....64 bit.

HOWEVER, the DEB files that we packaged do work in both 12.04 and 12.10.

[ Oops, sorry - I originally just sent this to the backports mailing list

Okay, well I just uploaded a package that's a straight backport of
saucy's to my PPA at ppa:laney/backports-testing so if you could check
that installs and runs (assuming it builds) then that's all we need to
do for this request.

FWIW, I generateded it using backportpackage like this:

  backportpackage -s saucy -d quantal -u ppa:laney/backports-testing uget

Cheers,

I have marked this as invalid because this version is no longer the latest version and I will be making a new bug from Trusty for a better backport.
