I can confirm the first error message on Arch Linux:

/usr/share/byobu/profiles/tmux:25: can't establish current session

byobu 5.39
tmux 1.8-1

The error goes away when the line "new-window -d byobu-janitor" is commented out.

The "can't establish current session" error is apparently still present. The correct way to fix it should be to replace "new-window -d byobu-janitor" with "new-session -d byobu-janitor" in usr/share/byobu/profiles/tmux.

Thanks for the fix of one of the issues. I can confirm that:
/usr/share/byobu/profiles/tmux:25: can't establish current session
still occurs. Opened new bug for it, bug #1178232 .
Thank you!
