Bug Description

I have not much used Empathy in the past but now that I have upgraded to Ubuntu 13.04 I decided to give it a try. I am running 64 bit version of Ubuntu on a Dell Inspiron 17R with 4GB RAM.
Well, in short empathy does not work. I have FB, Google talk and Yahoo set up. When I start up Empathy it starts very slow. Many times going unresponsive. When a message comes in, empathy does not always catch it and I only see it on FB chat on the browser. Sometimes the message appears in the popup bubble from empathy, but no window open and I need to open empathy, scroll down to the name of the person to be able to response.
Not really functional.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. When you test it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running apport-collect <bug #> and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.

Hi Walter,

Thanks for your mail. Understand that you have to prioritize.

Frankly I have totally forgot about this particular bug. As far as I can
tell it was handled in the next versions and in the next versions of
Ubuntu. Not using that much Thunderbird these days, as I am using multiple
devices including Tablets and Phones and it seemed easier to use webmail on
the laptop with those, no need to have local hard drive space and so on.

I think we can safely assume that the bug is fixed.

Ml,

Gabor Toth
