Several times a day the system will pause - mouse still moves, but nothing else updates on the display. Sometimes this will clear up after a couple of seconds, but other times the machine will require a hard reboot. This started a couple of weeks ago and the system is up to date.

dmesg lists "[drm:i915_hangcheck_hung] *ERROR* Hangcheck timer elapsed... GPU hung" when this happens, and Xorg.0.log states "[mi] EQ overflowing. Additional events will be discarded until existing events are processed." and "[mi] This may be caused my a misbehaving driver monopolizing the server's resources."

The system is a Lenovo X220t laptop.
