Bug Description

1) Description: Ubuntu Raring Ringtail (development branch)
Release: 13.04

2)

k@a:~$ apt-cache policy unity
unity:

k@a:~$ apt-cache policy firefox

k@a:~$ apt-cache policy firefox-globalmenu

3) When I maximize firefox and then minimize it, the whole UI hangs. Firefox is minimized, but when I click on the launcher or the panel, nothing happens. The only thing I can do is switch to a terminal with ctrl-alt-f1, log in and kill the X server.

4) I expect minimizing firefox not to freeze the UI.

If it is helpful to say so, in my experience Firefox never fully minimizes. I could not reproduce this with any other programs.

Additionally I experienced this while using the LiveCD (or LiveDVD if you prefer), with the following information.

This problem is not with Firefox only. It can be with any window. This is a possible duplicate with this one:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1171451

The freeze happens to the last window that is to be minimized. For example if you have 2 open apps. If you minimize the first one, no freeze will occur. But when you minimize the second one the freeze will occur.

When I switch to another workspace and then come back, the freeze is gone.
