Bug Description

So far, in Ubuntu 13.04, after launching clipit, its indicator doesn't make it to the top-panel (by the clock).

This effectively makes the application unusable in Ubuntu 13.04.

This believe this bug is elusively related to those who do distribution upgrades.

After installing over my upgrade with an install (Instead), the clipit indicator appears as usual.

As clipit is a fork of parcellite, this might be similar to #1148432. Will investigate...

Thanks for taking the time to report these bugs Lonnie!

Hmm... This doesn't seem to be the same issue as in #1148432, and judging from your related question it seems that you have something else going on. Do you have the package "indicator-session" installed?

Reinstalling Ubuntu 13.04 (instead of upgrading from 12.10), fixed my issues with missing indicators for all applications I mentioned in that "related question", EXCEPT parcellite. So, you are right in concluding that this issue is not the same issue you've discovered with parcellite.

This bug is probably exclusive to those who will upgrade to 13.04 from an earlier version, because after I reinstalled 13.04 from the live CD, this issue went away for clipit.

I prefer parcellite to clipit due to this bug:

So I look forward to your fix for:

Thank you.

Thank you for your bug report. That ticket is quite old and we didn't get recent report of the problem, also it seems to work correctly now, closing. Feel free to reopen if you can still reproduce in more recent versions
