Bug Description

This is just an oddity I can't figure out. lspci:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1143980/+attachment/3556266/+files/Lspci.txt

Which clearly show the intel Centrino wireless device and the Intel Gigabit Ethernet device. and that's it.
lsusb shows this:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1143980/+attachment/3556267/+files/Lsusb.txt

And none of those appear to be networking devices.

However, when I open nm-applet I see three networking devices:
Wired Network (Intel 82579LM Gigabit)
Wired Network (Novatel Wireless HSPA)
Wireless Networks (and a list of access points)

By using "usb-devices" command, we could know that device: "Bus 002 Device 003: ID 413c:819b Dell Computer Corp." is the "Novatel Wireless HSPA" in Network Manager

That should be WWAN, should not be a bug.

[ 0.498890] [Firmware Bug]: ACPI: BIOS _OSI(Linux) query ignored

Hence, as per http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/Product/latitude-6430u-ultrabook an update is available for your BIOS (A06). If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BiosUpdate , does it change anything? If it doesn't, could you please both specify what happened, and just provide the output of the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date

Thank you for your understanding.

Since this issue is not related to BIOS, just the device name is incorrect in nm-applet (the Wired Network - Novatel Wireless HSPA should be WWAN instead of Wired Network)
I will change the bug status back to confirmed, we will verify this bug again after we could access to this laptop.
