Bug Description

I'm using Ubuntu 13.04 dev (amd64) with nspluginwrapper 1.4.4-0ubuntu4. nspluginwrapper does not install libnss3:i386 as a dependency which will result in an error on registering plugins:

root@ubuntu:# nspluginwrapper -v -i /usr/lib/flashplugin-installer/libflashplayer.so
*** NSPlugin Viewer *** ERROR: libssl3.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
*** NSPlugin Viewer *** ERROR: libssl3.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
nspluginwrapper: no appropriate viewer found for /usr/lib/flashplugin-installer/libflashplayer.so

I have also figured out that libcurl3:i386 is missing as a dependency. Without this package npviewer.bin will use constantly ~75% of 600% of cpu power of my system and the flash application doesn't really start anymore.

Why should nspluginwrapper install libnss3? It's not a dependency of any binaries shipped in the nspluginwrapper package. It's a dependency of the flash binary, but most browser plugins don't need it. The flash package does have the needed dependency. And in any case, there is a 64-bit version of the flashplugin now.

Changed in nspluginwrapper (Ubuntu):

But there is not a 64 bit debug flash player (in the repository isn't even a 32 bit debug package). So I had to install it manually. But what is with libcurl3:i386? If it was missing it has caused npviewer.bin to make troubles. Is this the normal behavior?

Yes:

flashplugin-nonfree (10.3.183.4ubuntu2) oneiric; urgency=low

  * Add dependency on libcurl3 | libcurl3-gnutls, without which flashplugin
eats 100% CPU and never loads. LP: #780573.
