Bug Description

I have built two very similar development servers, both Windows 2008 R2.

I installed bazaar 2.5.1 on both.

On one, tortoisebzr is working, and I've checked out my code and started using it.

On the other, the tortoisebzr checkout/branch dialog does not appear.

I uninstalled bazaar 2.5.1, rebooted, and reinstalled.

Still the tortoisebzr checkout/branch dialog does not appear.

The tortoisebzr command dialog does appear, because I went to try that as a workaround -- I tried using checkout via the commandline, and got an error message asking me to report an error to the bzr buglist, which I'll do separately from this.

It seems convenient that I have at the moment two servers, one exhibiting the bug and one not, in case anyone could point me at some diagnostic steps that I could try.

Sorry for the late reply.

Please try below steps.

1. Call from command prompt
You can launch Checkout/branch dialog via command line.
Please try this command, and tell me if message or traceback are shown.
$ tbzrcommand --command getnew

2. Disable bzr-svn
According to your another post, bzr-svn may have some trouble.
If you can, please remove svn folder from Bazaar\plugins, and try again.

It turns out that if there is an .svn directory around, that TortoiseBzr fails to work, and the error message really doesn't make any sense.

I reported it per the request, but, frankly it appears that the error message string is just misleading.

That was a while ago, and I no longer have the situation to reproduce.

This should perhaps be turned into a FAQ entry instead, and this "bug" issue closed -- anyway, that would be my suggestion.
