Bug Description

Binary package hint: yelp

Ubuntu Feisty 7.04 Desktop
Linux memo-desktop 2.6.20-15-generic #2 SMP Sun Apr 15 07:36:31 UTC 2007 i686 GNU/Linux

Each results page after a search query has a bottom line like this:

"Repeat the search online at the Ubuntu Help Pages"

"the Ubuntu Help Pages" being a hyperlink to http://search.ubuntu.com/help?os=ubuntu&ver=6.10&q="query term"
For example, for a search in help for "gdesklets" we have a hyperlink to "http://search.ubuntu.com/help?os=ubuntu&ver=6.10&q=gdesklets"

I believe there was a desperate need for servers on release day and this was incorporated into the web-cache.

I've filed an RT and talked to elmo. We'll get it back up. At this point it won't happen until next week unfortunately.

There seem to be two bugs confused here: that search.ubuntu.com is down (which I reported as bug 118730), and that the requested URL contains "6.10" instead of "7.04" or "gutsy" (which I reported as bug 118731).

If this bug report is about the former, bug 118731 should not have been marked as a duplicate. If it is about the latter, it should be assigned not to Matthew Nuzum, but to someone on the desktop team.

This bug has re emerged with Intrepid searches are linked to http://search.ubuntu.com/help?os=ubuntu&ver=8.04&q="query term" Which errors as a bad url. It should also be noted that the version information in the refering url is wrong.
