Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox

just so that it is noted, when i say alt-tab that keyboard shortcut is set to the windows like cycle through programs.

the problem is that when a firefox window is open going to another program using alt-tab causes all open windows to close. i origonaly thought that it would have something to do with the web interface of gtalk but i'm not sure. i first noticed this problem when i alt-tab'ed from firefox to konversation but then again when i alt-tab'ed to kopete.

i'm running kde on ubuntu 7.04

I'm running into the same problem running kubuntu. It doesn't happen very often, I use ubuntu at work so for 8 hours a day I'm alt tabbing between browser and text editors and graphics programs etc. and it happens roughly once or twice a day. It would some times happen repeatedly 3 or 4 times in five minutes. Some times it wouldn't do it for days. I'm running Fire Fox 1.5.0.11 and Kubuntu Dapper Drake. If there's any more information you could use let me know, I'm a bit of a linux newbie. I just want my firefox to stop closing randomly. It's really anoying!

I am facing the same problem on firefox 2.0.0.11 on dapper. I know this is a difficult bug to resolve due to the inconsistency in reproducing it. Even in my machine, the bug occurs more frequently at some times than others (in the past 3 hours, it has crashed 4 times). Will post more information if available. Trying to switch to firefox 3 beta and see if the bug exists still.

dapper doesn't have 2.0.0.11 ... so you aren't using the ubuntu
package?

please try to disable your extensions. Those are a major cause of
annoyances. If you find the bogus extension let us know.

I guess firefox 3 fixes the problem.
