Ah, this looks like it is bug 1080423. There is a fix available from the proposed repository. See comment #9 in that bug to grab it.

Hi Michael, thanks for the information re backing up to Ubuntu One. I am
not an expert so I will wait for the bug be fixed :) which I hope will be
