nvidia upgrade failure

Upgrade from Edgy 6.10 to Feisty 7.04 problem;-

Upgrade Manager fails to update nvidia glx ;-

Package;

nvidia-glx
NVIDIA binary XFree86 4.x/X.Org driver
From version 1.0.9755 to 1:1.09631+2.6 20.5-15.20 (Size: 4.0MB)

Fails with the exit message:

E: /var/cache/apt/archives/nvidia-glx_1%3a1.0.9631+2.6.20.5-15.20_i386.deb: subprocess pre-installation script returned error exit status 2

Notes:

Update remains available to try even after failing.

Tried re-booting but problem remains

Original upgrade attempt indicated MANY failures and stated that it was aborting.

I am not sure which Ubuntu I am now running

Can you please attach the files in /var/log/dist-upgrade ? This will help us diagnose the problem. Currently only a (subset) of the term.log file is attached.

Find attached.

There is no such file as the one you requested.

There is a directory with that name.

I have attached the 3 files from that directory.

I am sure that I attached the files in that directory with my original bug-report.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately we can't fix it, as Ubuntu Edgy Eft is no longer supported. If you can reproduce this issue using Hardy Heron, you can reopen the bug report by clicking on the current status, under the Status column, and changing the Status back to "New". Thanks again!
