Bug Description

When a session is full-screen and scaled onto Monitor 2, Remmina won't display the auto-hide-tool-bar (like it previously did) when I would hover my mouse-cursor at the top of the screen. Therefore, I'm unable to minimize, scale-toggle, full-screen-toggle, etc.

When I double-click on a RDP Server Entry (from my list of servers in Remmina), Unity always Launches that session to Monitor 2.

I prefer the sessions to launch full-screen and scaled, and Remmina does indeed remember that preference from the last time I connected to that server.

However, when the session is full screen (and scaled) on Monitor 2, the hide-away tool bar doesn't appear when I hover my mouse at the top of Monitor2's screen. Because of this, I cannot minimize the session to view other application that are opened behind it (or use any other feature provided on the toolbar: scale-toggle, full-screen-toggle, etc).

Ugly complaint:

I frequently use Remmina and it has more annoying-unresolved-bugs than any other application I frequently use. I love its toggle-scale feature, but I put up with a lot of other bugs to use that great feature:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/remmina/+bug/1041759
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/remmina/+bug/1025520
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/remmina/+bug/1003261
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/remmina/+bug/478245

To be fair, I also like how Remmina provides a GUI that list all servers (of various types), where I can just double-click to launch a session with each server on the list.

Remmina is a good idea and a worthy application. I'll just be glad when this bug, and all the others I've listed (above) are RESOLVED and PROVIDED via an ubuntu update recommendation.

Lonnie - Yes I can confim that I too am suffering from the "Toolbar Won't Appear During Hover-Top-Of-Screen". I am convinced it happened after a "Software Update" some time during December 2012. I've been using Remmina most days without any
issues (for over a year now), and on three separate Ubuntu boxes, which all went through 12.04, 12.10 upgrades.

I had to google the issue (to see if there is a fix), and found your bug report in Launchpad, and hence why I am adding my comment.

The machine I am currently working on with this problem is bang up to date with updates, Ubuntu 12.10, 64 bit - HP DC7600 standard Intel graphics which comes with the machine. No special drivers.

(If anyone requires more info about my system - please let me know)

By the way - an odd behaviour which has crept in is: If I do finally get the Toolbar (it's very hit and miss whether I get one when I hover over the top of the screen) , and I hit the "minimise button" on the Toolbar, Remmina may not actually minimise until I either:

a. Mouse click and arbitary position on the screen
b. Hit a key

Hope this feedback is useful.

When I do get the toolbar, I too am experiencing the behavior jan5000 mentioned, regarding having to do an extra click to some arbitary point (after clicking the minimize button) to ultimately minimize my remote desktop.

Same here now with 13.10 64-bit but this has been going on since at least 12.10.

When this happens I've tried to toggle the "Grab Keyboard" key (Control_R by default) to see if the next keypress, a T for "Show / Hide Toolbar" does anything and also used Control_R+T simultaneously to no effect either way.

However I've found if I do a Control_R+F then the guest window does respond to going out of full screen so I can use that to work around the issue.

Also activating the "Grab Keyboard" and then (not simultaneously) pressing the letter S does in fact toggle if the guest display is scaled or not.

This issue of the toolbar disappearing could be less of a problem if the "Show/Hide Toolbar" functioned the way I imagine it should. Which is to say whenever the thing disappears if one were to press Control_R+T or even Control_R and then T it would pop back up again.

Of course what is also possible here is that the issue isn't REmmina itself but rather some other display factor, compositing, Unity who knows what, interfering with Remmina's ability to display that Toolbar when it should be done. But I'm no programmer so obviously that's a complete and utter guess on my part.
