Intended Characters Get Mistranslated in Conjunction with AutoKey

I use auto-key to associated hot-key short-cuts with various strings I'd otherwise would have to type over and over again.

For example, I've have a hot-key that will automate the typing of html-inline-javascript:

Using rdesktop, I'm able to use my hot-keys, and automate these typed phrase into a remote windows server.

However, in Remmina, this is what that same hot-key produces in NotePad on the remove windows server:

\script type='text/javascript'.

\/script.

Notice that the Left bracket "<" was replaced with a "\" backslash, and the right brackets ">" were replaced with a period ".".

Also, I've noticed that colons ":" get replaced with ";" semicolons.

When I type these characters manually, I do not experience these mistranslated characters.

However, let's not assume that it is autokey's fault. Autokey works flawlessly with rDesktop.

Remmina's scaling feature is a killer feature for me, it allows me to magnify desktops to a size that my aging eyes appreciate. So, I really like Remmina, but this issue I'm reporting is just one of a few I've been having with keyboard mappings acting weird under certain circumstance.

I hope this report will get to someone who can fix this issue I'm having.

I believe that you'll be able to reproduce this every time.
1) Install autokey-qt,
2) Add the snippet I've mention above into it, and make hot-key for it.
3) Open up a remote desktop with Remmina and perform the hot-key.
4) You'll see the mis-translation of characters described above.

Again, rdesktop doesn't exhibit this behavior, so looking in Remmina for the problem, may solve other problems as well, that have yet to be reported. Each time someone like me reports something like this, I bet there are a lot of other people just putting up with it, and not reporting it.....

This remains an issue in autokey-qt for Ubuntu 12.10.
