Related to bug#91064 (https:/ /bugs.launchpad .net/ubuntu/ +source/ restricted- manager/ +bug/91064). The nVidia legacy drivers were missing an option in the Device section that keeps OpenGL from working even with the proper driver installed. Once the option was added and X restarted, OpenGL worked properly and xmoto ran as it should.
