Bug Description

Nov 21 18:08:54 pegaso kernel: [28314.322170] iwlwifi 0000:09:00.0: Microcode SW error detected. Restarting 0x2000000.

I have connected well from my laptop with other networks until now, I think could be a recent software update, but when I try to connect to wifi network, some weird happens, the wifi connection is stablished, but the IP connection goes down. After a while, If I try to reconnect the wifi, switching down and up the interface, the connection has made and IP connection get up, but this is temporary. In the logs I got something like a firmware bug, this is the output of kern.log:

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1082035/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. You can learn more about finding the right package at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage . I have classified this bug as a bug in linux.

Hi

I found that this bug only happens when the followings conditions are met:
- ubuntu linux (pangolin maybe?)
- router/modem that provides internet access: ubee
- network wireless protocol : WEP

I have concluded that because I had other internet provider before and the connection wireless protocol was WPA and it connected well, and furthermore, a few days ago, after complaining about the connection failure with my actual provider, they changed the connection type to WPA, and surprise, I got to connect without any problem until now.

thanks four your help team.

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v3.7 kernel[0] (Not a kernel in the daily directory) and install both the linux-image and linux-image-extra .deb packages.

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.
