Bug Description
On 2012-11-18 07:00 UTC, my father found that his launcher was no longer revealing itself when he pushed the mouse pointer against the left-hand edge of the screen. It was still working the day before. We may have run “apt-get upgrade” in the meantime.
Rebooting didn't solve the problem. Nor did raising or lowering the sensitivity setting for revealing the launcher, or turning auto-hide off and on again, or making it reveal from the upper-left corner instead of the left-hand edge. We did not find any other edge or corner that would reveal the launcher. The “super” key still reveals the dash as normal, and disabling auto-hide brings back the launcher as normal.
This could be related to bug 971018, but it's on a physical machine where the feature did work properly before.
I tried to report this using “ubuntu-bug” but it crashed, so see bug 1080279 for system details and crash logs. We're running Quantal with unity 6.10.0-0ubuntu2 and also that same version of libunity-

Can you still reproduce it? We had a lot of changes in this area, maybe the bug just went away.
